Nick
Fowler, Chief Executive Officer
Nick is an industry veteran with 25 years of high technology experience
within the Hewlett-Packard Company. Nick has led the creation of
several major new businesses including notebook computers, personal
digital assistants, and internet sales and support; has created
new business models; and has managed large and complex organizations.
He attended Stanford University where he earned a B.A. in Economics
and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management.
Mr. Fowler sits on the Boards of several businesses as well as charitable
and non-profit organizations.
Jon Hofmeister,
President
Jon founded Perpetua, assembled the talented Perpetua team, secured
initial capital and has navigated Perpetua’s rapid growth
path. Previously, Jon was a key contributor at K2 Technologies,
Inc., a Stanford University spinout that grew from a 5 person firm
to a 45 person profitable company before being acquired less than
2 years from founding. Jon also worked as a civil engineer at the
multi-national URS Corporation and the Oregon Department of Geology
and Mineral Industries, and is a licensed Professional Engineer
in California and Oregon. He received his B.S. from Stanford University
in civil engineering and engineering geology (dual degree), M.S.
in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and MBA
from the University of Oregon, Reims School of Management (in France),
and London Business School.
Dennis Bowers,
VP Operations
With over 35 years of electronics industry experience, Dennis brings
expertise in all areas of operations and product development. Dennis
was involved in the expansive growth of HP’s server and PC
business, holding various engineering and management positions in
his 22 years with the company. For the 5 years preceding joining
Perpetua, Dennis served as the Director of Operations for Tripod
Data Systems, a Trimble Navigation Subsidiary, specializing in rugged
handheld products for survey and construction. Dennis received his
B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology from California State
Polytechnic University and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering
from University of California at Davis.
Marshall
Field, VP Engineering
With over 40 years of industry experience, Marshall brings significant
product development, assembly, and operations expertise to the Perpetua
team. Marshall is an expert with the material set used to build
Perpetua’s generators, performed his master’s thesis
on thermoelectrics, and currently has 23 patents issued and four
more pending. Marshall and Paul were colleagues at Hewlett Packard
(HP) for 23 years and teamed on a wide variety of cutting-edge technology
developments. Before joining HP, Marshall was VP of Operations at
Pantek Inc. Marshall received his B.A. in physics, math, and French
from Wilmington College and his M.A. in physics and math from Oregon
State University.
Jerry Wiant,
VP Marketing
Jerry brings over 25 years of quantitative and creative marketing,
advertising, and executive management experience to the team. Prior
to Perpetua, Jerry was CEO of TrafficLeader, an Internet marketing
company he co-founded in 1998 and grew from a two-person team to
a 50+ person profitable company before being acquired in 2003. Prior
to TrafficLeader, Jerry was president of an adverting agency, catering
to such clients as Sierra/Dynamix, Capitol Records, Sony Music Entertainment,
Inc., ESPN, and MCA Special Products. Jerry completed his studies
in advertising from the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle,
Washington.
Paul McClelland,
VP Technology
With over 40 years of industry experience, Paul brings world class
materials, processing, and product development expertise. Paul was
with Hewlett Packard (HP) in Corvallis from 1977 to 2002, working
on the original development of the first HP thermal ink jet pen
and served for 5 years as Section Manager and Senior Scientist of
the Advanced Materials and Process Laboratory in HP’s Imaging
and Printing Group. Paul is a prolific inventor, with 49 issued
US patents. To date, HP has never sold an inkjet printing cartridge
that does not use at least one of the patents and processes that
Paul developed. Prior to joining HP, Paul was a CRT process development
engineer and Industrial Engineering Group Leader at Tektronix from
1966 to 1977. Paul received his B.S. in chemistry from Portland
State University and M.S. in chemistry from the University of Arizona.
